The art of cat...
cat paintings
These are on exhibition at the Museu de Trajo, Sao Bras de Alportel, Algarve,
Portugal during February and March. For more information contact the

My intent with these paintings is to
challenge the conventions of good taste...! many cat paintings are twee and
clicheed, or 'chocolate box'. I hope you will agree that these paintings
are not that! My intent is to paint these subjects in a way which allows
their latent wild natures to show through. And I hope that the paintings
can be viewed in terms of their formal qualities too, and not be overtaken by the
possible emotive connotation.
